Press Release Body = With the formation of the new Executive Committee of Computer
Association of Eastern India (COMPASS) for 2006-07, the association has taken up
some resolution to hold up the association's reputation as a premier body of IT
dealers in the East. For the first time ever in COMPASS' history, the association
has formed a new committee-'Trade Practice Committee' for the improvement of the
trade practice scenario in the industry.

Vinay Dugar has been appointed the chairman of the committee. It will be dealing in
all trade related issues like warranty and service issue, trade control problem,
payment issue, credit policies etc. To improve the trade practices in the region as
a whole, COMPASS desires to work closely with other associations as well.

The association has come a long way in the past twelve years and its members have
been increased from 19 to 271 in these years. As the newly elected President K. L.
Lalani, says "If we had tried we could have increased it four times more; but our
target was 'Quality' not 'Quantity'. 80 percent of East business happens through all
of these COMPASS members only, which itself speak about quality. "

He doesn't promise any miracle in COMPASS but maintaining harmony and unity within
the organization is going to be the most important thing for him. Secondly, he
assures to take up all kind of trade issues crop up in the coming days. Instead of
limiting itself to one exhibition a year, the association is planning to hold 3-4
more IT exhibition this time. To increase the awareness of the end users and dealers
alike, COMPASS is planning to hold a number of seminars as well.
